Intel P8400 VS I3-330M

I have to choose between two laptops with these processors. I've been doing some serious research to determine which CPU is better but with all my noobness..I end up confused..

Can anyone share some advice?

Hello Doghound;

If you compare the two CPUs on the Passmark CPU benchmark you get these scores:
Core2 Duo P8400 @ 2.26GHz = 1542
Core i3 330M @ 2.13GHz = 1977

That's quite a nice bump up in performance from the P8400 to the i3 330M.
