Ok so I'm hoping someone can shine some light on this situation :).
ASUS M4A88T-M board which supports 1866/1333/1066

I have 8 (2x 4gb) gigs of kingston hyper blu X 1600 ram that I have installed and it is clocked down to 1333. Should it be a problem if I go into the bios and clock it up to 1600 where it's supposed to be?

As Wamplry said, not a big performance issue - maybe on the order of 5 % which would not be notted in normal operation.

But in answer to your question, yes you should be able to. Ther are two methods (1) manually set the Voltage and CL ratings in bios (Usually only change the 1st 4). This is the prefered method by most. (2) what I did, is go to bios and set memory to use XMP (Profile 1) - that set all my memory parameters to the correct values (I have 4 x 4 Gigs DDR3-1600 CL7 @ 1.60 V, Ripjaw line). Verify stability - down load Three programs
CPUID HWMonitor To Monitor temps and voltages http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
CPUID-Z Used to verify memory settings, also shows cpu info http://www.cpuid.com/
Prime 95 to check stability. http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft/

With these installed, open HWMonitor and prime 95, run prime 95 (15 min will give good idea on temperatures and voltages), for stability run about 4 hour, some recommend 8hrs - your call. DO this even if you do not cange your Ram settings.
