I recently upgraded my computer from 32-bit Vista to 64-bit Windows 7. Mysteriously, after the install, the seagate terabyte didnt show up anywhere. it would only show up in the BIOs, nowhere else. i have checked device manager, all that type of stuff, and i am really lost. i really need some help.

No. i've already tried and gone through all of that. It's inaccessible through the OS completely, but when I boot up the computer I can see it listed under connected hd's.

i'm not too familiar with hard drives but the power cord is a thick red cable and the data transfer cable (I believe) is a jumble of 3 cords
however this could be every hd and i'm ignorant...

if so then this is a drive that is actually is inside your computer case.
try this
open the start menu
type
diskmgmt.msc
hit enter
is it listing your drive there?

yes you know but you're assuming everyone here knows as well. I would try to install any updates for your drive controller.
