4670 obviously.

may only have half the frame buffer, but the chip is not even capable of properly using the full 512mb, let alone 1gb.

Of course HD4670 DDR3, it will be faster than HD4650 DDR2... :)
Don't look the amount of memory, on their level, it will not important...

so do u mean the 1GB RAM on 4650 is useless and
512MB on 4670 is the optimal.

so what about 512MB DDR 3 4670 vs 1GB DDR3 4670.

i'm asking very raw question because i've very poor knowledge on computers

thanks

512MB vs 1024MB with that chip is not going to make a difference.

On one screen 512MB will not even be fully utilized, and if it is, then chances are the settings are too high and framerates will be choppy because the GPU chip is holding it back.

The two cards I would get the 512MB version. I cannot think of any game that will run on that card and actually use more than the 512MB.

The 1GB card will be faster in some cases, but then this would be very rare, and the difference will be measurable, but not noticeable.

sorry for my poor question

so what the difference in performance between 4650 512MB ddr2 and 4650 1GB ddr3 provided from the same manufacture.

i've somewhat on the limitted budget.

i'll use this with q8300+G41+2GB RAM
and for music, movie, games(WOW, CNC General, Couterstrike, COD 4, COD 5, small games)
how about compatibility with current modern games.

my monitor is 1600*900 and 1280 will be fine for me

My brother has the 4650, and it is able to run those games at high settings with no AA at playable framerates. (between 20s and 30s).

Modern games it will run, but at reduced graphic levels.

As I said, with any of those cards, getting the 1GB version is pointless. Just go for the faster card, don't pay attention to amount of memory. I know it can be deceiving.

Just get the 4670 512MB DDR3 from Gigabyte, that will give you most performance.

Otherwise, where do you live (what stores available?) and what is your budget. I might be able to suggest something a bit faster.

finally i got i3 530 + Gigabyte H55S2H

so i get some more questions?

the MB has 2 pcie slote (16x and 4x) and in the spec, it's crossfire enable by software.

so what that crossfire support by software mean?

is there any benefit of putting 2 4650 cards on the MB (i'll get 1 card now and another card when i can afford later)

i also found Gigabyte 4550 OC 512 MB (cheaper than 4650), so can i use the crossfire for 2 * 4550 cards

and if i use 2 * 4650 or 2 * 4550 , what single card will these combination equal with?

and don't blame me, i know nothing, but crossfire only support the identical cards or can i use separate cards (eg. 4670 + 4650)

2xHD4670=HD4850
Surely 2xHD4650 will below HD4850.

But honestly, you only wasting your money to CF 2xHD4650...
