Compaq pentium 3 1000/133 mhz

How would I change the processor speed to the slowest speed I can and how low can it go? I have a hardware piece that needs a slow processor speed.

  1. You access the bios and reduce the multiplier and or fsb values to the lowest they will go.

Whats the purpose out of curiosity...
  2. Find an old ppga Celeron Mendocino core. They run as low at 433mhz. That's as low as it goes on socket 370, unless you can find an old via C3 chip. An old 667MHz chip may actually be a lot "slower" overall than even a mendocino celeron.
