Big difference between e6300 c2d and e6700 c2d

would i see a major jump between the 1.8 c2d and the 2.66 c2d?i useit for mainly web surfing,light gaming(spiderman web of shadows,batman arkham asylum) and dvd ripping(dvd fab,dvd shrink?

But, if you can overclock on your board (non OEM), I have pushed a 1.8 GHz e6300 to 2.8 GHz using a 400 MHz FSB with some voltage. This would give you the same benefit (and some) and cost you nothing

my motherboard does not allow overclocking.i know an e6700 can be had on ebay for 60 - 70 bucks
