T4400 vs i3 laptop processors

vs.

Intel® Core™ i3-350M Processor Speed 2.26GHz
Front-side Bus 1066 MHz
Cache 3MB

Which is faster and is the difference worth about $50 more for the i3? I just want to make sure i3 isn't the new value "celerons" of yesterday.
