HDD not being recognized?

I just build my first computer, installed Windows 7 onto the SSD, then plugged in the HDD, only to find out it's not being recognized after a few hours.

In Windows 7, under "Devices and Printers", it shows the HDD there:

But, if I go to "Computer" to check if it's there, it only shows my SSD:

What am I doing wrong? :/

Update: I fixed it by formatting the Hard Drive. My question now is, how do I make the HDD the default driver (C: drive), and the SSD in the second drive (D: drive)?
