Sapphire's "Toxic" series are generally overclocked video cards; kinda odd the clock speeds are not listed in the specs.

"Hemlock" is simply a code name. The HD 5870 is referred to as "Cypress". The HD 5970 is referred to a "Hemlock". The HD 5970 is actual two HD 5870 in one card; sometimes referred to as HD 5870 X2.

You actually had it right the first time. Hemlock was the AMD given codename for its 2 GPU solution used in the 5970. Cypress was the name for the GPU in the 58xx series GPUs. Then there were also Juniper, Redwood, and Cedar going down the performance line.
