An I-3 or an I-5 - and I was thinking of Win-7 home premium edition.

I would of course install a blueray player and a two or three gig HD.

Any recomendations regarding 32 bit or 64 bit?

my place has a cat 6 wired network as well as wireless and ther is a network drop close to the media center.

What video card would be best if I wanted to spend a bit more?

Other suggewtions? ram and so fourth.

hmm...perhaps get a the amount of ram you install in the computer will determine whether to use a 32 bit or 64 bit system..more than 3.4GB of ram requires a 64 bit..so, I would say go with a 4gb kit for the board I mentioned:

If you decide to go with a video card I would recommend a GTX 550Ti or radeon 5770..that will suffice...check the links below

The above cards will do very well for you, and last some time

u see u need to decide which cpu for sure u want to use cuz the new sandy bridge i series wont fit on the old 1156 pin boards there is one pin difference the new ones are 1155 and look into the new 1-5 or i-7 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072 they're priced really well and still take names. as far as mobo's go i stick with asus or msi and yeah the 5770 radeon is well priced and has an hdmi port 4gb 1333 ram will be fine t go with 64 bit os but u might also want to look into the amd cpus like the phenom2 955 the am3 boards are less confusing cuz intel has 4 pin sets out right now just food for thought plus 955 is quad core at 3.2 ghz for 140 im using it now got it oc to 4ghz run fine
