Identifying DVD Drive

I have a DVD drive in my PC, and I like to know what type, manufacturer, model etc.
How can I easily find this out ?
Hardware analyis programs (Speccy) and my OS tell me nothing more than it's a x16 IDE-DVD ROM but they me the make and model of my CD drive and HD OK.

Have you checked the bios? Sometimes the bios will give the model numbers of drives.

You could always take the DVD drive out of the case and read the label. Alternatively a free program such as Nero CD speed should tell you what you need to know.
