To save money most manufacturers use the same parts for as many products as possible. It is simpy cheaper - that is why for example many car models share the same chassis and many other parts.

This is most likely the case here. Your motherboard manufacturer has more than one model and instead of building and designing all of them from scratch, they have used the same base for several of them and just added/removed functions. This is absolutely normal and done by most manufaturers around the globe.

It is highly unlikey that you will be able to add whatever port is "missing" here, even if you managed to solder it to the board there will be other parts missing that are required for it to function.
