Hey guys I used to be really into computer building and computer parts and always kept up with the latest and newest computer technologies. But ever since I stopped playing video games for years now I am very far behind in whats new and great or a couple years old and still great. Basically what I need help on is I am building a new gaming rig. The only reason I am building this rig is because my Brother in law was kind enough to send me his Intel i5 670 Clarkdale chip, so basically I got a $300 chip for free and now I need help from you guys to help me pick parts for this chip. I read a little about this chip and so I don't know much about it, but I have about $1,000 to spend on this build I know for a gaming rig this might not give me the best and greatest parts, but I know since I dont have to buy a chip I can invest more money on other items. Please if you guys have this chip or know of it let me know some good parts that would fit my budget that I can buy and start building my new computer. Like I said all I have is that chip so I would need all the components motherboard, videocard, ram, power supply, case, heatsink fan for the chip any suggestions would be great thanks..

sorry for the the post in the overclocking section i posted it there on accident

Well there isn't much to go from here, you could build a gaming rig for $500. Or you could spend $1000. Basically it comes down to if you want to run the current and next generation games on medium or on ULTRA high?

I'd look at something like motherboard ($100), 4gb (2x2gb sticks) DDR3 RAM ($100), case and power supply ($100), Nvidia GTX460 ($200), DVD/rw drive ($20). These are estimations, but should be easy to find prices in this area (especially with parts that have rebates) on newegg.ccom or zipzoomfly.com
