Monitor with XFX 5850

Is it possible to connect a normal VGA LCD monitor ( mine is VA1703wb by viewsonic) to a computer that has an XFX 5850? the XFX version doesn't say anything about VGA compatibility. and also, does the normal VGA LCD work on a reference 5850? (by normal i mean the 17" LCD that comes with stock computers...i plan to build a new computer but not sure if i have to spend $200 - $400 on a new HDMI or DVI monitor.)

The short answer is Yes!
Usually the cards ship with DVI to VGA dongle (adapter) so connection should not be a problem.
