Gigabyte GA-M68M-S2P bios beep codes

I have just assembled a Gigabyte GA-M68M-S2P motherboard with an ATHLON X2 255 processor.
The SATA hard disk is new and I have put the Windows XP disk in the new SATA DVD reader.
After turn-on it makes one long beep, followed by a sequence of Four beeps followed by a fifth short beep.
Is this normal for a first turn on, and what next?
