how to turn my computer wifi card to access point, to be able tto share my wifi with other devices

Do you mean you want to share the internet that your connect to using your wireless adapter ?

Presumably you have a wireless router already so add wireless adapters to those devices.

Or are we talking about not wifi but a cellphone type internet connection on your computer ?

I have already built a home router using an old PC and Smoothwall. I am thinking about going wireless with it. I already have internet access going into it. what I am really thinking about doing is taking the one Ethernet output board out and replacing it with a wireless card. what I am wondering is if I can put in any wireless card, or if I have to put in a certain kind.
