I think so. I would be better if you posted the complete motherboard model number. Also you can go to the manufacturer's website and see the processor support list.

yeah but the problem is that its a laptop.. its a hp pavilion dv6302tu if it helps :S

Changing processors on a laptop is not possible. You would have to contact HP customer service and see what they say. That may mean a change of the motherboard and would definitely cost you almost as much as a new laptop.
