Difference between intel core 2 and intel core i3

If i want to choose between Intel Core 2 Duo and Intel core i3. Pls. advice which one is the best.

  1. Core i3 of course. Newer architecture. But that also depends on what you have right now and what is your total budget.

  6. i think if your buying a new PC, core i3 would be what you want, as it has more future upgrade possibilities. But some core 2 chips can out do any core i3 chip in way of performance. Core 2's come in quad core varieties and i3's dont. If you already have a core 2 and want to upgrade only the CPU, a faster core 2 would be a better option.
