What are you going use the PC for?
Here's one to start off with:

Core i5 530.
Gigabyte GA-P55-US3L.
GSkill 1333Mhz 6GB RAM's
Corsair CX400W PSU.
CM Elite 430 cabinet.
WD Caviar Green 1TB HDD.

Refer to this website for the prices. Remember the street prices are a little bit less than the one's on the website.

P.S. - For new build refer to the "Systems" section of the forum.

i think if your buying a new PC, core i3 would be what you want, as it has more future upgrade possibilities. But some core 2 chips can out do any core i3 chip in way of performance. Core 2's come in quad core varieties and i3's dont. If you already have a core 2 and want to upgrade only the CPU, a faster core 2 would be a better option.
