Generic bluetooth adapter cannot function

i tried to use my bluetooth adapter..
but...
it can't functioning well...
although i tried to download new software from broadcom...
it was failed...
the problem when i want to install from the broadcom is...
it ask me to plug in bluetooth device...
please...helper.....expert....
help me please.....
