Gcc10hn10 in dell inspiron 530 recognized but wont r/w on cd/dvd

cd/dvd drive recognized by vista on dell inspiron 530 will not read or write cd's or dvd's. this is a model gcc10h10n drive. drive ejects and closes but no reaction to read or write. please help
