Hi. I'm upgrading my PC's GPU, CPU and consequently, motherboard. I'm on a budget of £250 and a radeon 5850 and amd 955BE would set me back £200 leaving £50-60 for a motherboard. From what I've read, ASUS seems to shine in terms of quality and hardiness, but I'm by no means an expert (rather a newbie) on components and don't know which would suit my needs; hence this thread. I'm not fussed about CF but if it would help with future proofing then that would be cool. My primary use for this upgrade will be gaming.

So...yeah, if you could suggest a motherboard to fit the bit then that would be super. Thanks.

Asus can have as many problems as any other maker (latest is USBs on the P67). Their reputations was earned by a combination of quality, innovation, and software. Bang-for-the-buck is where makes like ASRock, Zotac, MSI, Biostar, Elitegroup, etc shine.

Here is a very nice budget ATX board for your 955BE - one of many - look around at some others if you wish.
