My HDD is dead

when i connect the power cable to the hard disk drive it spins and make pecular noise and it stops after few seconds and it is not detectable, please give me an advice whether it is repaiable and can i retrieve my all data in it.

Hard drives are not repairable except in a drive refurbishment factory. You need to test it with diagnostic software to find out if it has failed. in which case the only way to retrieve data from it is to send to a professional data-recovery service, and that costs a small fortune.

You can test it with "Seagate SeaTools": http://www.seagate.com/support/downloads/seatools/

Use "SeaTools for DOS" if testing a drive which has your OS on it.
Use SeaTools for Windows if testing a non-OS drive.
