Hello All,

I have an Epox EP-MF570 SLI board and AMD Athlon X2 5200+. I would like to upgrade the processor to an X2 6000+. Since Epox went gunnysacks some time back, I cannot determine if this board will support that processor. Futhermore, there seem to be at least two flavors; a 89w and 125w TDP. Does any know which of two, if any, my board will support? My latest bios is 12/22/2006. Any help would be appreciated.

Here is an educated guess since I can't get to the Epox specs;
I would be stunned if the 6000+ 89w did not work in your MB. Both it and your current CPU were in the same timeframe of manufacture and (obviously) used the AM2 socket. No BIOS upgrade would be needed.
The 125w Version; it will fit, and it will power up, but, what speed it runs at I cannot guess.
Sorry, that's the best I can do.

Thanks much for the input. That was my guess as well.

I got my hands on a 89W version and will install today. I will see how it goes and report back.
