Looking for NIC

I have my router in the basement, making it impossible for me to hook up my comp via ethernet. I just finished this build a few days ago.

I can't really have an internal one since my 4870 blocks one pcie slot and the other one is so close that it will block my fan.

I need it to be compadable with N routers and have a decent range. My budget cap is 40-45 bucks, I prefer to buy from newegg or amazon.com
