the ATI 5850 is perfect for a 1920x1080 monitor ($300)
the ATI 5770 would be a solid budget option that can give you solid performance with your monitor and is a decent step up from your 9800GTX ($160)

Nvidia launched its new GTX465 but it costs more then the ATI 5850 while its performance falls short of it

It basically depends on what you want to spend. $150-160 for an HD5770 or $300ish for an HD5850. The HD5770 is about 30% faster than your 9800GTX while the HD5850 should be 80-90% more powerful and OCs a ton. Both will give you DX11 compatibility, 3 monitor support and more advanced audio/video playback features that your old card lacked. They also both use less power than your old card so your PSU should be fine

2 important questions:
1. How much do you want to spend?
2. What is your PSU? brand? model? Open the case and see it for yourself...

Just to make sure...
But your previous card was 9800 GTX, so HD5770 will run on your PSU.
