Hi, I had a buffalo ministation 1 tb which failed after 8 months of use. Now, I am looking to buy a portable hd for as a replacement to buffalo ministation.

Here are the one's I have in mind:

Western Digital 1TB My Passport Portable Hard Drive

Hitachi Touro Mobile MX3 1TB External Hard Drive

Samsung M3 1TB USB 3.0 Slimline Portable Hard Drive (This one has 3 year warranty, rest of them have 2 year warranty)

I just want to know which one of them(brand) is more reliable.

for me i will go for WD if the price is not too expensive.
I have friends using the other brands, and no complains

There is no definite on which of those is going to be more reliable. I would get the one with the longest warranty and make sure to keep your data backed up. You may get a few opinions, but those will just be a select few users experience. Being careful with external drives, and trying not to move them around unnecessarily will help a good deal in extending the life of it regardless of brand.
