Antec EA650 and PCI-E connections

I am just about ready to fire up my new build:

AMD Phenom II 955 BE
ASRock 870 Extreme
Sapphire 6850
Antec EA 650 PSU

Ok. So I was connecting the video card connector (6pin) and noticed the 6+2 PCI-E. Can I use just the 6 Pin (leaving the +2 to dangle) for the video card, or should I use the other 6 pin connector.

I know this is a newbie question and the answer will most likely be YES, but I just wanted to be 100%

Yes you can use the 6+2 pin in that way. Otherwise the would simply have made it 8 pin.
