Mouse only works in 2/3 USB Ports. (Third port works fine.)

This might get worded poorly, so I'll try and make it clear as possible.

My laptop is poorly designed or something. I have 2 USB ports on the right and 1 on the left. The 2 USB ports on the right are beside the audio+mic jacks, so when I use my mouse in either of the two, my mic/headphones get a weird electronic feedback noise. However, if I use my mouse in the single port on the left, the audio 'feedback' doesn't occur. This is the problem.

The port on the left works fine. Whether it's my external HD, camera, whatever, it works fine.

In short, my PC recognizes my mouse, my mouse works, my left-USB port works, but my mouse (and only my mouse) isn't recognized in the left-USB port, which is the one I need to use.

I tried restarting with the mouse in, with the mouse out, but that didn't fix it. And I've used this mouse in this port before, so I know it can and will work.

My motherboard is an ASUS and thats about all I know.
Any help would be greeted with much love.

Head to the laptop manufacturer's website and download/install the chipset. Reinstalling or updating the chipset will reset the USB controllers, which in theory, should take care of your issue.
