BGA1288 - Future-Proof?

As you know the i7 Duals are the first socket BGA-1288 processors.

There has been no news of it yet, but who here agrees with me that 1288 will be the socket used from now on, and that for upgrade value, say for the next 32nm Quads, it is the only thing to buy to be future-proof, considering that PGA-988 is the end of its life?

Umm, BGA means ball grid array. That means that the processor is soldered to the motherboard. It really doesn't matter in the slightest if the socket changes, since you can't change them anyways.
