Hello, I hope you guys can help me. I'm having the exact same problem and situation (what a small world) like this guy here http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/277198-32-where-found-folder-check-disk

So after watching some videos (shows) from my BUFFALO 500 GB external HDD

The power went out. Normally I panic and scanned it using the windows error checking. Like the other guy said, it found some corrupt files and they were placed in the "FOUND" folder.

I have already unchecked the "hide protected system files" and checked " show hidden files" on the folder options but I still can't find it.

And I have done the whole cmd command thing, but what am I suppose to do after that? From the results I am getting the "found" folder is not showing. Can anyone help?

Have you tried doing a search for .chk files?

"The recovered files are .CHK now, I believe. And where Win95/98 stored them in the root directory, I think they are now in one of the User folders. Do a search for them by that extension if you have run CHKDSK and it found errors."

If you can find the files, these links may offer help on recovering them:
