Can a 2 0x16 grapics card run in a 1.0x16

I was wondering if I could run a 2.0x16 PCI-E graphics card in a PCI-E 1.0x16 graphics card slot? I have an older computer which might have a 2.0 but figuring a 1.0 would probably be more likely.

Yes, you can.
But make sure that card is 2.0 and not 2.1, cause many compatibility issue with 2.1 card on pci-e slot 1.0

PCI-E 2.0 graphics cards are backwards compatible with PCI-E 1.0 slots.

Thank you. That opens up a whole lot a higher performance card for me and means I can carry over the card I'm looking at to a computer I am working on saving for.
