Hi, I just built my custom PC desktop and I need a video card so I can play games likes Battlefield Bad Company 2, Modern Warfare 2, Grand Theft Auto IV, Test Drive Unlimited, Splinter Cell Conviction and etc. Right now, I'm using integrated mobo ATI Radeon 4200. The video card that I have in mind is ATI 4870, 4850, 4770 or Nvidia Geforce 9800, 240, 250 GTX ? Would it matter if my mobo is ATI? Should I decided to use Nvidia or should use only ATI video cards? I'm just looking whatever has the best features and performance for my budget, thanks...

My Specs:

AMD Athlon II X3 440 3.0 GHz, Cosair 4096MB (DDR2) Memory RAM, Seagate 500 GB Barracuda 7200.12 Hard Drive, Monitor: Samsung 19 inch Widescreen LCD Flat Panel Monitor 932BW+ (Max Resolution 1440 x 900) , Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600), XION XON-500P01N 500W ATX12V PSU and Motherboard: ASUS M4A785-M.

It doesnt matter what your motherboard is. If you can get a 4870 for 120 do it, its significantly faster than the 9800GTX, but i cant find any on newegg for that low but i did find a powercooler 5770 for 130 after rebate, a little outside of your budget but almost as powerful as the 4870 and has decent availability.
