mother board = ASUS P5Q Deluxe LGA 775 Intel P45 Intel Motherboard

Now what I'm wondering about is if theres any upgrades that are worth purchasing at this time. I don't want to change the whole computer at this time, just the cpu or gpu or both. I'm looking for better gaming performance, FF XIV has insane graphics and I don't wanna be lagging all over the place.

As far as CPU's go I don't know which CPU's fix in my current mother board, so what I'm wondering is if there is any cpu's that would offer a big enough performance increase to justify upgrading (but it has to be compatiable with current mobo)

As far as video cards go, same question basically, is there any video card worth purchasing, but also I don't know alot about crossfire. Bare with me i'm not that savy, I believe crossfire is where you have 2 video cards in your computer, assuming thats the case, does 2 video cards actually increase your performance? I mean does the game actually use both video cards?

Anyhow all informed advice will be greatly appreciated, also if you have any good advice outside of just cpu/gpu please feel free to let me know, thanks =)
