Hi,

I'm running a Core 2 Duo E6600, P965 chipset, currently with 2x1Gb Corsair XMS2 PC2-5300 RAM. (Part No, CM2X1024-5400C4).
I want to add another 2Gb, but can't find any more of this exact memory, but can find the PC2 6400 version although this has timings CL5 ( 5-5-5-18 ) whereas mine is currently 5-5-5-15.
I can also find the Value Select version which does match my timings.

Which would be the better to buy? And is there any difference in getting 2x1Gb or 1x2Gb?

Thanks

Go with the new XMS2, its rated @ 800MHz v/s yours which is 667MHz. When you drop the 2nd ram stick, it should clock down to 667MHz and operate properly with the timings of the older module.
