Hi, i found that loading the 32 bit raid drivers from the motherboard support disc, into win7 setup will allow for recognization and installation. then after first startup, update drivers to 64 bit.(most recent from asus support site.)

hi,
go to asus suport page for our mobo:

scroll down below downloads:
select os
select "Utilities"
look for:
"Version 3.2.1540.35/1.2.0.16
Description
AMD AHCI Driver V3.2.1540.35 for Windows 32/64bit XP.
AMD AHCI Driver V1.2.0.164 for Windows 32/64bit Vista.
AMD AHCI Driver V1.2.0.164 for Windows 32/64bit 7.
AMD RAID Driver V3.2.1540.35 for Windows 32/64bit XP.
AMD RAID Driver V3.2.1540.35 for Windows 32/64bit Vista.
AMD RAID Driver V3.2.1540.35 for Windows 32/64bit 7."
(or newer for people visiting this post in future)
download and extract anywhere.
go to /AMD_RAID_V32154035_XPVistaWin7\RAID\AMD\Driver\Disk\RAID\Win7\x64 folder and run the
"ahcix64s.msi" it will say something about using ati catalyst to install it.carry on from there, it will requir a reboot when complete.
if you run into any troubles then intsall the chipset update first from the chipset section.
