This is a question regarding power consumption.

Does a PC with Core i5-750 6GB of DDR3 1333, 500GB HDD, Nvidia's GeForce GTS 250 graphics card and 15' LCD consume more electricity per hour than,

a PC with Intel P4 3.0 Ghz 2GB od DDR1 400, 400GB HDD, Nvidia's GeForce 8600GT graphics card and 15' CRT ????

Please help..... will the i5 machine end up with a higher electricity bill??

You will not see a noticeable change in the electric bill. GTS250 uses more power than the 8600GT the CRT monitor uses more than the LCD and so on. What really matters though is that the power supply in the old computer probably has efficiency somewhere between 60 and 70% but new PSU´s with 80+ certification have efficiency above 80%.

Buy or borrow a Kill-a-Watt meter and find out for yourself.
