Is DDR2 slowing down my system?

Hi everyone,

My question is this: I plan on upgrading my video card soon to a 6950 from 5770 crossfire. The 2x5770 doesn't scale correctly in TF2. My goal is to max out graphics 1920x1080 on a 32" monitor. I currently am using a 4GB DDR2 RAM kit. I want to know if my RAM would bottleneck the 6950 or if I need DDR3.

Here is my current setup

Phenom II X3 4th core unlocked 2.8GHz

2x MSI Radeon 5770 1 GB Crossfire -------------> planning upgrade to
HIS 6950 2GB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD4P

G.Skill 4GB RAM DDR2 1066 -------------> will this bottleneck my system

WD Caviar Black 640 GB

Corsair CMPSU-650TX 650 watt

I kinda dived into the Crossfire thing without doing my research.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advanced!

Your DDR2 ram has faster latencies compared to most DDR3 ram and makes up most of the difference there. The difference might be measurable but surly not noticeable.
