Overheating of 8600gt

my zotac 8600gt(not OCed) runs at 50-55 idle nd 105 max at load...
tried changing thermal paste, oiling the fan(wasnt wrkin b4 nd now its wrkin) mine is an open rig in front of an ac full time..nd ac runs at 16c
my card is 2 yrs old..
nd at the same time my cpu runs at 30 on full load even after overclocking
and all parts of the mobo running at less than 25c
i willl get my new gts 250 today but this 8600gt i am goin to use in my old pc which is in a case so condition is goin to be worse than this

  1. ok the idle temp aint too bad but the load temp is very damn high. Try to clean it. IT may be very dusty.
  2. did all those... even i got the entire card replaced once...around 6 months back
    but prob is still there :(

  4. Can you show us the link for your card?
    Is it single slot card?
    What case? mid/micro ATX Tower?
  5. the temprature shown are wen not in a case...just open setup right in front of the AC vent

    and what about your case? is it micro ATX tower?

    If yes, then you might don't have enough room in your case to cooling down your card (a.k.a. good airflow).

    Second, your card is a single slot card, it can get overheat easily. Next time, do not buy a single slot card... :)

    yes the case is micro atx...
    but i m not using it now...just left it open due to heating..not just the side of the cabinet..i tuk the entire cabby off..
  8. and yeah i got my new gts 250 and a MSI p43t-c51 mobo yesterday :)
