X3 440 vs phenom 9850

Would the Phenom 9850 at 2.5 Ghz be better than the Athlon x3 440 at 3.0Ghz?

Wouldn't it be fairly easy to overclock to similar speeds? And the l3 cache help for gaming?

For better bang for buck the X3 440 is the better choice.

The X3 440 is built on a superior architecture and will bury the 9850. The earlier Phenom's do not overclock well at all.
