My Buffalo 1tb external hard drive will not turn on. Tried other power leads as

Hi guys,
My 1TB Buffalo external hard drive will not power up. There is no yellow "on" light nor any motion sounds coming from the casing. I have switched power leads and USB leads but these do not change anything.
It is connected by SATA via USB.
Any suggestions as to what to do next? If so, is the data recoverable?

Just got it sorted. A different USB port was used and up it came.
