I bought a new pc awhile ago and plan to upgrade it soon, here's the specs:

Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 235e 2.7 GHz
RAM: 6.00 GB DDR2 800
Chipset: NForce 430 MCP61
Graphics: GeForce 6150SE
Hard Drive: 750 GB SATA 3.0 Gbps
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
PSU: 250 watt

I know the first thing I need to change is power supply and graphics card, because I want it to play games better. But my problem is my friend is getting a better graphics card and he wants to give me his old one, but he thinks it might cause problems since his came from a pre built gaming pc and im not sure what to make of it since i cant find the card on tigerdirect, so any info on this would help anyway here it is:

OEM MSI VCO Build, VCO Geforce 9800GT

I also like some recommendations on what kind of psu to get and what brand, thanks.

His card should work fine in your system! A good quality 400-500watt PSU will run that no problems, I suggest looking for Corsair or Antec in that range.

thanks for the reply, I'll let him know to go ahead and mail it. That looks like a good psu too so I'll bookmark it for later to buy it. :D

You will end up with an unstable system random reboots as best case scenario or it will refuse to start at all.
