hi im going to pick up a graphics card soon and i was hoping which one would suit my system best and not bottleneck anything. Im currently running a evga 9800gtx+ 512mb gpu... its either gtx 275 ftw or gtx 285.

my specs:

coolermaster storm scout case
amd phenom II x4 945 3.0ghz
msi 790x-g45 motherboard
kingston hyperx 4gig ddr3 ram
coolermaster v8 cpu cooler
razer ac-1 gaming soundcard
corsair tx650watts psu

Either will work fine in your system but I hope you are aware of ATI having the best price/performance ratio at this moment.

Yeah, there is no need to buy old tech when you can buy a current gen card.

a 5850 will offer the best performance for the price, as well as running cooler and quieter and using less power.

No, physx is as dead as ever. there are plenty of discussions on it, so no need to go through it here.

while you lose some nvidia features, you gain some ATI features. most would argue that its a more than fair trade off.

i just bought a xfx ati 5850 yesterday...its pretty good...heaven benchmark for my old 9800gtx+ was 21 fps....with the 5850 at exact same settings it was 69 fps...good jump...i traded my old gpu plus 80 dollars cash for the 5850...new card currently idling at 34 degrees celsius...not bad
