Driver for seagate freeagent go downloads

I have a Freeagent Go 160Gb that went dark on me. (not the first time) The USB ports work with
other periphs so I thought maybe I need a driver update for my Vista laptop. Good luck getting a straight answer on that. I was all over seagate and got nowhere plus hard to navigate. Entered my serial# and P/N and got the response ...so such device. I Googled and got lots of extraneous ads driver management software (only $29 per year).
I know that computers have gotten more sophisticated and I have had the Freeagent for a while. I have
been porting stuff over a few folders at a time to my Windows 7 machine but have not finished and now
it is dark.

Anybody know where I can find a driver for a FreeAgent Go 160Gb running tempermentally on Vista?

The FreeAgent Go is a USB mass storage device. As such it does not require any special driver other than the one provided by Vista.

Thank you, fzabkar. That tells me that I can cross that off my troubleshooting list. Thank you, again.
  4. You could use Microsoft's UVCView utility to communicate with the bridge board inside the external enclosure:

The following utilities will attempt to communicate with the drive behind the bridge:

HD Sentinel (DOS / Windows / Linux):
    http://www.hdsentinel.com/

    HDDScan for Windows:
    http://hddscan.com/
