Looks decent.

A Samsung Spinpoint F3 or Seagate 7200.12 might be slightly faster than the WD HDD, but not worth it if you end up paying more than a couple dollars extra.

You might try looking for 1600 MHz CL7 RAM, it would allow a little more overhead for overclocking (as it appears you plan to do). It shouldn't be too much more expensive.

My personal preference is to not CrossFire right away, I prefer to leave an upgrade path open for later. For the price of 2x 5770 Vapor-X, you're close to the price of a single 5870. The 5770 CF setup will probably be a little better right away, as long as the game supports CrossFire (which I believe is becoming less of a problem). But if/when you need to upgrade, you pretty much have to throw the 5770s away (or try to sell them), whereas it's possible that you could get another 5870 to upgrade later.

In general though, the build looks well-researched. CrossFire at the start is more up to personal preference, but I tend to recommend against it.

EDIT: Nice catch on the PSU, batuchka. If available, an Antec Earthwatts 650 should run you about the same $. Another option would be an OCZ ModXStream 700.

1. Actually, according to directcanada and the manufacturer information, the PSU is 80+ certified.
2. I'll see if that's available
3. Resolutions like 1600x1200 and up

Edit: http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=14660AC5265&vpn=TRX-650M&manufacture=THERMALTAKE

Whether or not it's "certified" I'm not actually positive about, but it is 80% efficiency according to the website.

Sadly, there's no review on the 650W that I could find. Although there are sometimes differences between different wattage units in the same line, usually PSUs that are close together in wattage and in the same line will share the same manufacturing technology/process and manufacturer.

If you feel like that PSU is the best choice for you, then I'm not going to try further to talk you out of it. Just trying to point out that there are some red flags, and that there should be other, more reputable units at about the same price.

Yeah, I did in my original post. :)

Actually, for only a few dollars more, this OCZ Z-series is 80+ Silver certified, and I haven't read anything horrible about them.
