Grey screen

Hello, I have an asus m3a78-cm. The other day I was on it and a thunder storm came in and shut the power off for a few seconds. when I tried to restart my computer, it loaded fine to the logon screen. I put in my password then it acted like it was gonna load my desktop but brought up a grey screen. I cant access startup or anything. I can get into task manager, but cant find "system restore" or "run.exe". Any tips on what is wrong and what I should do to fix it??

Possibly the OS is corrupted or you have a power supply issue due to the power surge.
