Asus A8n-sli deluxe install sata drive

I have never used sata hard drive ,I have felt the ata hook up HD was enough.
Just curious I had installed it new HD wes digital HD
I attached red wires to master
Had cr-rom is slave I guess please help
I have brand new motherboard in box a special ed , replace with new never been used still in box special ed. I have deluxe for 7 years,can not get parts cpu memory maybe
A-8-N-SLI special edition please help 3800 mgh cpu ,2 g 400 ddr memory what is wrong or what am I doing wrong?


I would like to install sata hard drive without getting blue screen
I have used everythig but sink ,,,, It works at first no PINS for HD sata
It shows up in bios as hard drive cd sony has pin changed that also

is slave master primary ?? Please help I will pay you greg atkinson
I built comput for 8 years recently
Best buy will not tell info over phone they say bring IN.

What OS are you going to install ?

If Vista or Win 7, then SATA drive is no problem. Connection is easier with SATA drives. Follow the procedure below:

Install SATA drive and change BIOS setting to SATA rather than IDE or compatibility.

If you are going to use more than one SATA drive ( e.g. one for backup ), install only one SATA drive before you install Vista or Win 7. You add the other SATA drives later.

i have windows xp 2003 os will satya work if I set up in bios
what about cd rom sony master or slave right slave drive because it shows up sata drive as master ??

WHY CAN'T I MAKE A SATA DRIVE MASTER WORK THE SONY CD-rom IS ON SLAVE
IT SHOULD HAVE ONLY 1 HARD DRIVE 320 GB PLEASE I HAVE BUILT 3 ASUS
COMPUTERS 2006 YEAR MOTHER BOARD WHY???? IT the OS IS 2003 win XP
IT works and then BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH OR MOST OFTEN DOES NOT RECONIZE

I DID ALL THAT ONE 320 GB HARD DRIVE NEW SATA DRIVE IS nOT RECOGNIZED ,BUT I WILL NOT GIVE UP
