I'm running XP (with the 'show hidden files & folders' function checked/engaged). in wanting to clean up one of my usb removable drives and with the free version of Piriform Recuva [v1.43.0.623] I found 2 hidden folders listed in H:\Recycled\ on my kingston 4Gb datatraveler usb flash drive. these folders are not visible in explorer.
I followed the directions below from the Piriform site:
http://www.piriform.com/docs/recuva/technical-information/secure-file-deletion

"To recover files and delete them securely:
1. Run Recuva in Advanced or in Wizard mode.
2. In the results window, select the files you want to securely delete.
3. Right-click the list and click Secure Delete Checked.
4. You are prompted to confirm the deletion. Click Yes."

said Right-click maneuver does not offer the selection "Secure Delete Checked" as stated in #3 on my PC, though I do see a choice of "Secure Overwrite".
at any rate I know the files are there and I could recover them, but apparently not delete them via Recuva freeware.

any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

easiest way...

move / backup your data from the USB flash disk...
Full Format (not quick one) the flash disk....
move back the data to usb flash disk....

recycled is system folder, but usually not in the flash disk .. (I'm forgot if it normal for XP)

Also make sure your USB flash disk not fake ones....
