Can I Combine Evga wIth PNy

Hi every one my question is this i have an evga gtx 285 as a main graphics card my friend is going to give me one of his old cards its a pny gts 250 could i combine these 2 to use one for main graphics and the 250 for just physx sorry for the question but since im getting this card for free and i been researching people use lower cards for physx just wondering if i could combine evga with a pny

motha board msi p55-gd65
ram 4gb

Yes you can use the PNY GTS250 as dedicated physx with a evga GTX285. Brand names do not matter in combination like this.

However, it might require you to use Win XP or Win 7 to work, as Vista doesn't allow for multiple graphics drivers to be installed.

well im currently running win 7 as far as dedicating the card for physx its just an option on the nvidia controller

That may be true, but I've seen people have trouble before, but I'm not sure if it was due to drivers or not.

They are both nvidia cards running of nvidia driver.
