My Motherboard stopped working, it had a SATA connector on the motherboard for the 160gb harddrive, so i got one off ebay, it came with a connection for a intel z p230 8gb ssd, it has no sata connection on the motherboard for my hard drive, can i put one on to the motherboard or is the a cable that goes from ssd to sata
My notebook is an Acer aspire one zg5

  1. Welcome! You can only have one drive per SATA connector, you can not add another connector.

it has an ssd connection and not a SATA connection my question was can i add a SATA connector to the motherboard instead of using the ssd connection
  3. Most SSD are SATA but apparently that Intel one is PATA (IDE) which is not compatible. You should be able to hook up a IDE drive to it though
