As you should know, the 5830 isn't the best priced card around. I purchased the 5830 Modern Warfare 2 edition from Sapphire before I found this out. I can't return the item, but I can sell it on eBay. I was wondering if it would be worth selling the graphics card and buying the better priced 5850? If anyone knows, about how much would my two-week old 5830 sell for?

Could you do me a BIG favor? COuld you run 3dmark Vantage with Cat 10.5 drivers and your max overclock? I'm curious to see if cat 10.3 to cat 10.5 was a huge jump in numbers compared to my own.
Sorry, I'm rather new to overclocking and if I do sell this graphics card, I want it to be as new as possible and proudly say that I've never overclocked it. :D

Honestly your not going to get anywhere near what you want for it. You can get a new 5830 on newegg now for 199.99 so i'd say 150 would be the most someone would offer for it.

What don't you like about the 5830 that makes you want to sell it?
Wow, I bought my 5830 for $280 Canadian! Well that answers my question about whether to sell it or not. I suppose my money could be used better in cooling my GPU down, as it runs at 40 degrees Celsius idling.

About that favor you asked, how high could you overclock your 5830?

Rich,

I had 3 5830's.. One went to 1Ghz, 1 went to 925 and one went to 875. All depends on the luck of the draw but they performed great compared to the 5770 i was using before i ordered them. Post your system specs and overclock. 900mhz core and 1250mhz memory should be very doable. Also 40C is FINE. Don't worry about that temp. Perfectly normal.
Okay, here are my current specs (note that I'm soon going to upgrade my CPU):

3GB DDR3 RAM
2.6GHZ E2200
Radeon 5830 1GB
600W PSU
Motherboard - ???

It's nothing too fancy, but it's a start to a new hobby.
